Who Is Lisa Ritinski

Lisa spent her professional life educating children and her personal life dedicated to raising her three children with her husband.

Teaching was always a passion of Lisa’s. She embraced the fact that every child learns differently. Lisa was an advocate of differentiated instruction, planning creative and engaging lessons, focusing on unique learning styles, and targeting different skill sets. She believed that students possess different kinds of minds and therefore learn, remember, perform, and understand in diverse ways. She emphasized the importance of developing lessons that encompassed these various learning styles, so that all of her students could learn and grow individually. Lisa’s dynamic personality fostered confidence within each student, and a positive learning environment. This philosophy was embraced by students and parents alike.

Lisa most recently was a first grade teacher at Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary. She previously taught in Pennridge School District and for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Additionally, Lisa was a devoted wife to her husband, Joe, for 28 years and a loving mother to three children, Joe, Kate and Jen. Her passions included education, giving back to her community and family life.

Lisa was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993, at age 35. She lost her battle to the disease 18 years later when it returned in 2011. She will be forever cherished by those who knew her and the lives she touched.
